Bob Bjornoos

Bob's first interest in music began when he was at the tender age of 5. He was in a Gambel's store in Randall, Minnesota where he saw a shiny plastic guitar he just had to have, and he wasn't going to take "no" for an answer! It was the first time he had ever thrown a tantrum and got his way. Needless to say, his parents gave in and it was the beginning of a life-long love of music.

His first professional gig was with a band called Anvil. They played Fensky's Tavern in Cushing, Minnesota on New Year's Eve in 1972, and he has been busy playing ever since. Other former bands include Cheyenne, The Mason-Dixon Line, Trace, and Back Pages.

The Suspects originally formed in 1985. When searching for a name for this new musical venture Bob and a keyboard player (Mike Halverson) independently watched the same Rockford Files in which there was a fictitious band called The Suspects. All the band members agreed it was a cool name... thus "The Suspects" were born.

Bob put out a CD of all original music called "More Than What It Is" in 1996 which was well received in the local music community. He was featured on KQRS's local music show "Minnesota Homegrown" in 1997.

Bob plays electric, bass, and acoustic guitars, harmonica, and keyboard. When asked about his biggest musical influences he credits Burton Cummings and the Guess Who, Bob Dylan, the Byrds, the Beatles, John Fogerty and Bob Seger.
